Nobel Peace Prize winner Shimon Peres spoke at a Milken Institute program in January 2003. The former Israeli Prime Minister outlined four major events that he believes must be addressed in the coming decade to avert global disaster: confrontation with terrorists; resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; environmental decline; and the development of nanotechnology. Peres said that peace in the Middle East can only come when terrorism is defeated and Israel's neighbors develop stronger economies and more stable governments. He last visted The Milken Institute three years ago. |
