Speaking at the Milken Family Foundation's National Education Conference in April, Mike emphasized the strong influence teachers can have in shaping our nation's future leaders. He focused specifically on science teachers, who will inspire and teach the young men and women who may some day develop cures for some of today's most devastating diseases. At the conference, Mike and the Milken Family Foundation handed out $2.5 million to its 100 Milken National Educator Award winners. Since 1987, nearly 2,300 outstanding kindergarten through 12th-grade teachers, principals, counselors, librarians, and other specialists have been recognized with unrestricted individual Milken Educator Awards of $25,000.
