Mike celebrated the 2003 Home Run Challenge by throwing out the first pitch at Fenway Park before a St. Louis Cardinals-Boston Red Sox game. The Home Run Challenge has raised $18 million over the past seven years to support medical research that seeks better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer. With support from Major League teams, players, managers and their coaching staffs, and umpires, fans nationwide pledge from $1 to more than $5,000 for each home run hit in 60 selected games, played during the week before Father's Day.
