Mike was in London in January meeting with executives of the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of the United Kingdom. While he was on the other side of the pond, the European bank BNP Paribas -- a Milken Institute Global Conference sponsor -- invited him to speak at a financial conference. Following the speech, as a token of his appreciation, BNP Paribas executive John Ong presented Mike with a complete cricket outfit "because we know he's an avid baseball fan and we thought he might want to broaden his appreciation of related sports." Actually, the gift also came with tickets to an international cricket match, which Mike plans to auction off to raise funds for the competitive research awards program of the (U.S.) Prostate Cancer Foundation.
