Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met twice with Mike in Jerusalem during December 2007. Mike was in Israel to explore ways to increase the effectiveness of Israel's medical and scientific resources on a global stage. Olmert, who had just returned from the Annapolis Middle East Conference and discussions at the White House, cited Mike's success in accelerating scientific progress as a model for deploying Israel's capabilities around the world.
