Mike and Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn led the first meeting of a new Milken Institute initiative -- the Los Angeles Economy Project -- a year-long collaboration between the Institute, the Economic Roundtable and the City of Los Angeles to create a strategy to improve local labor skills and promote job and business growth in the region. Mike was instrumental in bringing many of the city's leading philanthropic foundations into the process.
