The Milken Family Foundation has honored more than 2,500 outstanding kindergarten-through-12th-grade educators with unrestricted, individual Milken Educator Awards of $25,000 since 1987. At the 2009 National Education Conference, Mike spoke about the important role teachers play in science instruction and in teaching children about living healthy lives. He also identified several cultural priority changes in America, including greater emphasis on education and medical research.
