Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) Scientific Retreat in Washington. The MRA, founded in 2007 by Debra and Leon Black in conjunction with Mike and the Milken Institute, is the largest private funder of melanoma research, having awarded $38 million to 96 research programs to make transforming advances in the prevention, diagnosis and staging, and treatment of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.
