Mike congratulates high-school physics teacher Kena Allison on winning a Milken Educator Award at the Thurgood Marshall Academy in Washington, DC. The Milken Family Foundation has awarded thousands of Educator Awards to public-school educators across America; each award includes a $25,000 check and an invitation to the annual Milken Educator Forum. On hand to join the notification, and smiling in the background in the orange blouse and scarf, is Joelle Simpson, who is a Milken Scholar. Simpson, who received her Milken Scholar award in 1995 after graduating from Port Richmond High School in New York, is now an assistant professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Children's National Medical Center.
